Goliath´s head and The Beast. The five smooth stones chosen by David from the brook represent five irrefutable statements of Truth. These statements sent forth from a mind confident of itself, its cause, and its spiritual strength will crush the forehead of Goliath, error’s giant.
Look at it this way: The corporation is a Goliath. As the economy blooms and then wilts, Goliath breathes in and breathes out. You are the air that Goliath breathes and needs in order to survive. However, you should understand that you are not Goliath. The beast himself consists of a select few entrenched high-level executives and large stockholders. They will be cared for no matter what storms or fires ravage the outside environment in which the beast dwells.
Mammon becomes a “Goliath-like deity
The name David means “the Lord’s beloved,” and Davi( represents your righteous perception of your privileges the child of God. You are not a slave to anything or to anybody in the universe. The threat of this Goliath, the power of money, holds no terrors for you in this consciousness. You have a smooth perception of Truth and you sling it straight to the center of his carnal thinking, his forehead. The weight of his shield and his armor does not intimidate you, for you see them for wh; they are, empty and meaningless show, vulnerable in many places to the true ideas with which you are armed.
Even the most ardent defenders of the money power wi: admit that it is a tyrant and that they would not have it rule their world if they could help it. It nearly always destroys its friends in the end. Any man who becomes slave to money is eventually crushed by it. On the other side are whole armies of righteous people, Christians, who like the army of Israel think that this giant cannot I overcome. They are waiting for reinforcements, something larger and stronger in a physical way.
The five smooth stones chosen by David from the brook represent five irrefutable statements of Truth. These statements sent forth from a mind confident of itself, its cause, and its spiritual strength will crush the forehead of Goliath, error’s giant. The statements are the following: I am the beloved of the Lord. He is with me in all my righteous words, and they do accomplish that whereto I send them forth. My cause is just, for it is my divine right to be supplied with all things whatsoever that the Father has placed at the disposal of His children. I dissolve in my own mind and the minds of all others any thought that my own can be withheld from me. What is mine comes to me by the sure law of God, and in my clear perception of Truth I welcome it. I am not fearful of poverty, and I am under obligations to no one. My opulent Father has poured out to me all resources, and I am a mighty channel of abundance.
A Christian uses wisdom always, unless he switches off!!! Today’s gospel has holes that evidently show a serious invasion and takeover. Are you going to be a spectator? Won’t you contend for the faith? Can’t you see what is going on? We have giants of well organized secret societies that have vowed to annihilate Christianity. They seem to have the capacity or the means. And we have seen what has happened to all who have opposed them. They pervade every sphere of life. These giants affect economies, politics, family values etc. And these giants have another gospel. For even our churches are totally taken over. You are the one God is counting on. The question is, are you going down in history and in the great book of God as a David who stood up and left a legacy or a coward who scampered leaving a plume of dust behind? When David saw Goliath, something in him was moved.
The reader should also notice that the Right Place” stone struck Goliath in the forehead. Phrenologists tell us that perception is located in this portion of the brain. It is well for us to remind our-selves that the brain is not the mind, but the instrument of the mind. The forehead then is that portion of the brain through which perception is expressed or manifested.
Now, evil claims to be very wise, but its wisdom is only the wisdom of this world. The serpent which crawls in the dust tries to persuade man that material wisdom is all-sufficient ; but divine Wisdom must eventually displace the material sense of life. This material sense of life is really negation, or ignorance of good.
When the stone of truth strikes this weak spot, the giant Goliath, who seems to have such marvelous power, falls to the earth. Evil is a bully, a boaster masquerading as a great giant with enormous power ; but the Christian warrior need have no fear: if we dwell *” in the secret place of the most High,” we “shall abide under the shadow of the Al-mighty.”
The great Goliath, therefore, which wars against man, is man’s ignorant, sensual, materialistic sense of life. As man’s spiritual consciousness is unfolded, so his lower nature is “put off,” and the new man in Christ Jesus is “put on.” It is then that his materialistic sense of life falls away into nothingness from whence it came.
