The first centre creates in you ego ignorance. Ignorance is created out of earth. And the second centre creates all the sensual desires, and the third centre creates desires for hunger, wealth and greed. Thus, the three lower chakras (root, pelvic, and navel) are concerned with material life and bodily survival. The upper chakras (throat, third eye, and crown) deal with spiritual life and higher creative expression. The key that unlocks this entire system is the middle chakra—heart chakra.
Self), and that the goal of life, viz., Self-realisation is attained by negating the five sheaths and piercing the veil of ignorance. When the spiritual center or Rudragranthi is pierced ignorance is removed and the Self is attained, bringing a permanent sensation of bliss.

The Kundalini travels from the lowest centre to the highest centre. All the chakras are opened simultaneously. But many things happen at the, second and third centre. Ego is broken when the Kundalini is active and the Muladhara Chakra is pierced. But then the second and third chakra create quite a few problems, and they create these problems for quite a few months or even years.
But since the Guru is holding the Kundalini from the Trikuti and controlling it from this place, the man will never go wrong. Even after falling again and again he will come up. Things will keep on improving. And when he crosses the third centre, many of his problems will go, peace will emerge, stability will come, and a happy state will be there. So one can see that now those problems have gone because one’s attachment with the outer objects (to a larger extent) has vanished.
The Kundalini is the chariot—and he is leading you towards victory by going through various mental forces.
People in whom Kundalini has become active, cannot be defeated because the battle-cry is being raised by the Lord Himself against the enemies. Your enemies are very strong. So understand all these things at the inner level which is happening here and now in everyone and you have to win this battle. Till you win this battle, the hope and faith is weak. You may become anything in the outside world: a rich man or an officer or an educationist or a politician. It is no solution to your problems.
So where is the problem? The higher path is difficult. Lower paths are very easy. In the higher path you have to struggle with your mind. You have to put your attention forcibly, then your interest will come. In lower path interest is already there: attention will automatically be there. If you want to become a big mathematician, you will have to put your attention first forcibly: then you will learn it. If you want to become a big scientist even, you have to put your attention there and work very hard. But in the lower path of wealth and lust, attention and interest are already there. You are thinking about them all the time. About God you are never thinking!
All shocks come from Maya , not from Shiva . So we are searching freedom from all the three : ignorance , desires and karmas . The Kundalini is a fire which will be pervaded by all the forces of the kundalini fire; and they will provide the substance for the next root race.
Detachment from your own body means destruction of the ego.
At every centre of consciousness a lotus opens up. Somewhere this lotus flower has four petals, some six petals then 10 petals, then 12 petals and 14 petals, and in that Trikuti there are only two petals, but at the Brahma-Randhra, there are one thousand petals which means full bliss. So when you reach there, you enjoy the bliss of Samadhi. This Kundalini takes you from the third stage to the second stage, and then takes you to the first stage where you know, ‘I am light’. But that’s why—because it takes you from the third to second stage—you have to suffer a bit in Kundalini, sometimes.
It is called “Initiation by Piercing.” Awakening the reflective awareness of this process by an intense descent of empowering grace—shaktipat—the initiate experiences the Goddess Kundalini rising through the chakras, piercing through them as She goes. In this way She burns up the impurities and ignorance that sully and condition consciousness through a process appropriately called “The Purification of the Elements.” Ideally, this takes place just by the gracious look of the teacher, or by a touch, or just a thought.
There is three aspects of the one Goddess who embodies the triadic energy of Kundalini. This is the common basic initiation. The direct awakening of Kundalini in the Initiation by Piercing is the higher initiation and is considered to be the most excellent.
The Kundalini , which thereupon rises up through the hollow mystic path of Susumna, piercing its bottom, which is closed in the state of ignorance.
A form of Yoga close to Hatha Yoga, which emphasizes the awakening and rising of the kundalini, is Siddha Yoga.34 It stresses the importance of being led by a guru’s and to rely on his or her power for spiritual awakening. Un-like in Hatha Yoga, in which the practitioner’s effort is intense, and the guru only serves as a mentor, in Siddha Yoga, it is the master who triggers the awakening of kundalini. The Hatha Yoga Pradipika affirms of this option: When the kundalini is sleeping it will be aroused by the grace of the guru.
Then all the chakras and knots are pierced and prana flows through the royal road of sushumna. The mind is released from its work and the yogi conquers death.’ The “grace” received from the guru is different from what Christians mean by grace. It is the power given by the guru either by revealing a se-cret mantra, by a touch on the forehead (the place of the ajna chakra), or even by a simple glance. The act of initiation itself, said to be a transfer of spiritual energy from master to disciple, is called Shaktipat. Disciples have experienced intense physical manifestations occurring at the awakening and rising of kundalini through the “grace” of the master.
